It seems that the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide will now be discontinued in the Sidekick lineup. The device used equipment designed by Motorola which had some power issues. Combined with the fact that it was only available in two colors, and it will not be getting the video update makes it hard to compete with the other Sidekick’s.

So if your a fan of the Sidekick Slide now is the time to buy as it will probably only be available in stores for a limited amout of time. Although you can still find a nice stock of the phones online.

If you are a T-Mobile user you have probably been wondering when T-Mobile’s new 3G network will be available for you to use. Well, if the above image is true it appears that T-Mobile is saying they will be launching 3G on October 1, 2008 in 27 cities.

Here are some new pictures of the up and coming new Sidekick Gekko. The phone is rumored to be coming out this summer. But with all of the rumors going around about the phone we won’t get are hopes up until we hear the official word from T-Mobile. Anyways the phone seems to have some very cool new looks, and a slightly sleeker more modern shape.

The two above pictures where sent into hiptop3 from a BestBuy employee. They are screen shots of the internal stock tools from BestBuy, which indicate some details to the release of the T-Mobile Sidekick Gecco.

First off its seems that they may have changed the name from Gecko to Gecco. It also indicates that the release will be on July 27, which we where already aware of, and that the price will be $299.99. Other then that the only thing we can see from the pictures is the size and weight.

Today we have the press photo of the rumored limited edition Tony Hawk T-Mobile Sidekick LX. The new Sidekick LX is supposed to be previewed this week, but won’t be released until mid July. The new phone is rumored to have a real skate board feel and look to it, even with grip tape on the back. It will most likely also have all the features and improvements that are coming with the Sidekick LX OTA. Which means it should have video recording capability, stereo Bluetooth, additional theme options, video sharing capability, and more. Check back for news on the official release.

Today the rumors for the new Gekko/Aspen Sidekick have been confirmed. The FCC just released the docs on the new phone with the above label, indicating a phone with the ID PV210 manufactured by Sharp. So this just means that there is an actual device in someones hands and in the process of becoming a releasable phone.

The FCC docs don’t give away to much about the new phone. However they do let us know that it will not be taking advantage of T-Mobile’s new 3G network. Other than that we will all just have to wait in anticipation for more news.
