March 23, 2009 – 12:56 pmNew T-Mobile Sidekick Video Bug
August 27, 2008 – 11:49 amThere is an issue or bug that has been discovered in the new Sidekick 2008 and the Sidekick LX phones with the video update. There is a currupted .3gp video file out there that has the potential to reset your entire Sidekick. Which just means that you will have to re-download everything and get all of your settings setback up. You can see an example of this happening in the video above.
To protect yourself from someone sending you this file in an email you can take the following precautions. Select Menu->Settings->Attachments->Remove Attachments then in the new menu simply tick the Multimedia box. This will prevent your emails from receiving a video file.

July 30, 2008 – 7:00 am
T-Mobile’s latest Sidekick is finally out and available for purchase. We also finally have an official name for it well kind of. T-Mobile is packaging it as the T-Mobile Sidekick 2008, but they are referring to it just as the T-Mobile Sidekick.
Anyways the new T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 has some nice improvements over the previous Sidekick LX. The new device is smaller, lighter, and a slightly more modern design weighing in at 4.5 oz. It also has a noticeably better camera with 2 mega pixels, but there where no improvements on the video camera. Also its unfortunately still using the old Edge network instead of the new 3G network.
Probably one of the coolest things about this Sidekick over the previous is the users ability to create custom skins or shells to add on to the device. T-Mobile will also of course will be selling shells for the new phone as well.
Overall its seems like a nice new phone with some good small improvements and a decent price at $149.99 with a two year contract from T-Mobile.

The new T-Mobile® Sidekick® lets customers change the look of their device as often as they change their clothes
BELLEVUE, Wash. – July 30, 2008 – A picture from high school graduation, a favorite sports team logo or a vibrant splash of the hottest fall color – whatever you want to express, you can design it on the new T-Mobile® Sidekick®. Available today, T-Mobile USA, Inc. has added the latest edition to the Sidekick family providing customers with the opportunity to create shells for their Sidekick with the images, colors or designs they choose.
The new Sidekick will ship with two shells: black and metallic green. A variety of pre-designed shell patterns and colors also are readily available for customers to purchase at T-Mobile retail stores or online. Of course, for true individualization, customers can design a completely unique shell unlike any other using a dedicated online Sidekick site via SkinIt at www.sidekickshells.com. Doing so is as simple as uploading a personal photo or graphic design, or selecting your own text, shapes, icons or logos. The final design is custom-printed onto the shell, then shipped. Once the design is complete, customers can share their work of art in a public gallery that will be hosted on www.sidekick.com.
