T-Mobile held an event to show off their new Sidekick LX and Engadget was there to get a hands on preview. Lucky for the rest of us who weren’t there they filmed the demo of the phone for us to see.

T-Mobile just released a weird little unboxing video on their YouTube account of the the new T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009. Unfortunately it doesn’t show much video of the phone or its features.

There is an issue or bug that has been discovered in the new Sidekick 2008 and the Sidekick LX phones with the video update. There is a currupted .3gp video file out there that has the potential to reset your entire Sidekick. Which just means that you will have to re-download everything and get all of your settings setback up. You can see an example of this happening in the video above.

To protect yourself from someone sending you this file in an email you can take the following precautions. Select Menu->Settings->Attachments->Remove Attachments then in the new menu simply tick the Multimedia box. This will prevent your emails from receiving a video file.
