Sidekick LX Video Recording OTA Update On June 25th

For all of you who have been waiting for the Sidekick LX to have a video recording feature your wait is almost over. It has been reported that all Sidekick LX phones will start receiving an OTA update starting on June 25th. It will take some time for each phone to receive the update as they send them out in groups. But it will be nice to finally have the missing video recording feature. You can find all of the updates included in the OTA update bellow:

  • Capture videos using the new video mode
  • Playback from the SD card or email attachments using the media player
  • Share videos via email, Picture messaging, and Bluetooth
  • Listen to songs or videos using a stereo Bluetooth device
  • Send and receive photos, videos, or music via Bluetooth
  • 3 IM clients & enhancements to AIM® and Yahoo!® Messenger
  • Create and join group chats
  • See who is logged into IM from the address book or email and instantly start a conversation
  • Set a custom status message then keep chatting
  • Search for friends in a buddy list
  • Got more buddies than you can keep track of? See who’s online right from the address book or email, and search for friends in your buddy lists
  • Select how Web pages are displayed based on preference
  • PC-like, full-size layout to pan & scan while reading o Standard Sidekick screen-size layout to simply scroll down the page to read · Mini Page to zoom out on an overview of an entire Web page
  • Save images from Web pages to the SD card Personalize the way you want to surf
  • Device does not restart after a download. Just install an item, and it’s ready to use
  • Capture videos and share them directly from the Camera app
  • Video integration for playback, send, and save to gallery

      It records videos in .3gp format. But it can play videos in 3GP and MP4 format.

      I GOT THE UPDATE AND IT IS SO BAD AZZ!!!! Im in love with my phone again and my boy regrets his IPhone! Videos looks alright on the device but look superior on tv…almost hd like on some resolutions..lol This phone also let me out a 1 gig movie on mysim and watch it in HI DEF!!!!! WOWZERS!

      I’m honestly so frustrated with tmobile. They can just open up the servers and send out the update to everyone. I mean if there doing it slow because they want to make sure its right why do it at all?

      I live in Cali 2 I havent gotten the update, only tony hawk sidekick lx has it so far and I’ve asked a repsentative about it I was told that regular lx wasnt getting the video recording only on the tony hawk is unlimited edition so I don’t if this is true or not…

      I’m in Iowa and have not received anything either. My G has gone out for hours upon hours for the past month and aol always disconnects even when I have 4 bars. I’m getting rid of the lx and getting the iphone.

      Just came from da T-Mobile store 2 check out da Tony Hawk SK. Pretty cool but its best 2 just wait 4 da LX 2 get da update. Da Gekko can make its own ringtones & has removable & changable faceplates. Screen is slightly smaller too. I love my LX tho, everytime I try 2 leave it I just keep commin back!!! Lol Be Cool O_o

      Aright so I’m confused, some people that have the update already say YOU CAN VIEW YOUTUBE VIDEOS and some people that have the update say YOU CAN NOT VIEW YOUTUBE VIDEOS. I would like to know if somebody that has the update knows for sure if you can or can’t see youtube.

      I recently spoke to a tmobile rep and she said that the updates are going by sim card numbers not by state and location or even mobile numbers.

      The update is completely RANDOM. You can be right next to your friend/relative and he/she gets it; that doesn’t mean your gonna get it a few seconds later. EVERY LX user should have their OTA Update by Mid-August

      I called tmobile 2day…they said that the update came out 7/24 and its a 5week process before every LX user gets the update. So everyone should have it by the end of this month. The update is RANDOM. keep that in mind !!

      I had my lx since december 12th of 07 and I still got it and aint got no update yet..all I need on this phone is a video recorder and 2 be able 2 watch videos on any website not jus youtube and 2 listen 2 music on any website that has music..but I live in jersey and still I haven’t gotten the update and 1 of my friends did and they say yu can watch youtube and record videos I’m upset cuz I aint got it yet..this shit needs 2 hurry the fuck up..lol

      Hey I got my update today @ 7:00am EST. The video playback is not that great. The video kind of freeze up alittle during recording. Plus you cannot view video from the web. That kind of suck. They need to make a media that will play back some web video. How about a Micromedia Flash Player?
